A Litter with Purpose
A Litter With Purpose BeeBee, a black Labradoodle, is expecting her second litter with Clem, a white Standard Poodle. The pregnancy has been officially confirmed by ultrasound, and the puppies are expected to arrive around October 13. Follow the journey of this litter through our social media and consider donating toward training and care of the puppies entering the service training program.
It is an intensive and costly journey to prepare a service dog for placement. Raising, training and placing a service dog with a child in need costs Heeling House over $40,000. With the help of our community, Heeling House requires families only pay a portion of this cost toward their service dogs.
Fundraising for this litter makes the Service Dog Training Program sustainable for both families and Heeling House. $22,000 of support for each puppy makes this a sustainable community program. $40,000 of support per puppy allows our program to grow and serve more children in our community.
Raising and training a service dog takes many hands. Heeling House is grateful for the volunteers and community for their continued support.

Newborn Puppies
The cost to whelp and raise one litter starts at $2,000. Additional supplies and veterinary care can add over $3,000 in costs.
Vetting
Service dogs in training receive puppy vaccines, booster vaccines, monthly preventatives, and are spayed and neutered before placement. Routine veterinary care in the first year can cost $3,000 per service dog.
Administrative
Staff members keep the puppy and service dog programs running. Between watching puppies, coordinating schedules, working with families, training dogs, and so much more, staff members are there behind the scenes.
Day to Day Care
Puppies are socialized, learn basic obedience, and house manners from 8 weeks to 14 months. Puppy raisers provide service puppies a loving home, but need supplies throughout the year to keep puppies learning and out of trouble.
Training
Puppies are socialized, learn basic obedience, and house manners from 8 weeks to 14 months. Between field trips, puppy classes, and one-on-one training service dog training can cost over $11,000.
Emergency
Unexpected things happen!
The plumbing in the kennel may burst. A puppy may eat something unexpected. Emergency funds allow Heeling House to keep running even when the unexpected happens.
Food
Puppies love to eat!
Each 40 lb bag of dog food costs $50. During growth spurts, one puppy can go through a 40lb bag in one month.
Gear
Puppies grow a lot over one year.
Each service puppy goes through $400 of equipment during their year of training include crates, vests, leashes, collars, and training props.

Covers the cost of breeding, delivery and all expenses for one newborn puppy up to 8 weeks of age whether through our in-house program or from one of our breeder partners.
Covers all expenses from 8 weeks until puppy returns for formal training at age 14-18 months.
Covers all expenses involved in the formal training of one service dog. Training begins at 8 weeks old when puppies are placed with their puppy raisers and continues through placement with their person.
Covers all expenses for one service dog from birth through graduation.
