Brittany Mraz

Reading Specialist

Rachel grew up in Leesburg, VA and attended Loudoun County High School. In May 2015, Rachel graduated cum laude from Virginia Wesleyan College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Studio Art. She is currently pursuing her MEd in Special Education, with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis at George Mason University. 

 

Rachel has training and expertise in applied behavior analysis and has provided therapeutic services for individuals on the Autism spectrum from ages ranging from early childhood to adulthood. She has extensive experience carrying out individualized educational and behavioral goals, community based intervention, group therapy instruction, and crisis management. Growing up with a younger brother with Autism, Rachel has had an immense passion for helping others with disabilities since childhood. She enjoys being an advocate for equality for all living beings and helping others succeed.

Brenda Abbott

STEM Teacher

Brenda has been with Heeling House for the past 2 years. She has been a registered Pet Partners team with her golden retriever, Cali, since September 2014. Brenda was a nurse for years but has since retired. She
